National Symposium held at S.B. Jain Institute of Technology Management & Research

Department of Mechanical Engineering, S B Jain Institute of Technology, Management and Research organized a national symposium on ‘Recent Trends in Solar Energy Technologies’ in collaboration with Institution of Engineers (I), Nagpur and Solar Energy Society of India, New Delhi. The symposium was held from 6 th to 7 th January, 2018.
Dr Shashikant B Thombre, Professor and Head, Mechanical Deptt., VNIT, was the chief guest and the key note speakers, in the inauguration ceremony. While Dr Ravindra Babu Yarasu, Associate Professor of Govt. College of Engineering, Nagpur and Er. Gurmeet Menor, M2M Metanoia, were the expert speakers during the programme.

Dr Shashikant B Thombre discussed about fuel cell, its working, types and applications and demonstrated the working through the models. He also mentioned the advantages and disadvantages of the fuel cell, fuel cell versatility and application, major steps, major losses, characterization of fuel cell and the scope of research that can be undertaken on the subject.
Dr Ravindra Babu Yarasu threw light on use of solar energy, renewable energy development and programme in Indian scenario and bio energy technology. Er. Gurmeet Menor talked about new trends in off-grid and on-grid photo voltaic solar power
system. Hybrid solar system, benefits of micro inverters, types of solar batteries, flow batteries, PV solar panels, concept of roof top solar panels.
On the second day of the symposium, Dr Vivek Bhore, Director, V.V.Associate, Nagpur and Mr Sudhir Sarawat, Director, Green Life Solution Pvt. Ltd., Nagpur were invited as expert speakers. Dr Vivek Bhore laid emphasis on need of energy, present scenario, worldwide use of energy, solar equipment, technical aspects, analysis and testing of liquid flat plate collectors, solar air heater design, its application, types of solar cookers, job potential and opportunities in the said field. Mr Sudhir Sarawat mentioned about various future technologies on renewable energy, hybrid bio-solar cell, heat solar cell, solar concentrating technologies, fuel cell operated car. He also interacted with the participants on using these technologies. Over 70 participants/research scholars from various institutes/organizations of the region participated in this two-day symposium..
CEO of the trust, Prof.Sanjeev Agrawal, Principal, Dr Sanjay Badjate, Convenor and HoD of Mech Engg department, Prof.Harish Bhatkulkar and Co-convenor, Dr Arvind Bodhe were prominently present in the ceremony. Vote of thanks was proposed by Mr Amit Bankar. All the staff members of the Mechanical Department worked hard for the success of the symposium.

S. B. Jain Engineering College Students Excel

Students of S. B. Jain Institute of Technology, Management and Research (SBJITMR) from Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Department once again proved their brilliance by getting placed in the university’s top 10 list of Winter 2017 results which were declared recently. From Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Department, Third
semester, Ms. Ashwini Chandrapawar bagged 1 st position with 82.31%, Mr. Aman Shende came up with 3 rd position with 80.92%, Mr. Ketan Randive secured 4 th position with 79.23%, Ms. Sushma Thakur secured 8 th position with 75.08% and Ms. Ruchita Chandekar secured 10 th position with 73.85%.

The CEO of the trust, Prof. Sanjeev Agrawal, Principal Dr. S.L.Badjate, congratulated the meritorious students and wished them luck for their future.

Information Technology department Student’s Excel in University Examination 2017

Students of BE 3 rd , 5th  and 7th  semester Information Technology of S.B. Jain Institute of Technology Management and Research, brought laurels to the college by securing positions in Nagpur University Winter-2017. Sanika Manjre got 4 th rank and Pratik Khobragade got 5 th rank in University exam from 3 rd semester. Ashar Khan secure 1st university rank  , Ganesh Tambatkar got 4th rank and Arpita Nagrare got 8th rank in the University exam from 5th  semester. Ankush Bisen got 15th  rank in University exam from 7th semester. The Institute, department and faculties are very proud of our all students who pass with flying colors.

10 students of MBA cleared NISM Certifications of Mutual Fund

As a part of Employment Enhancement Training Program, ten students of Department of Management Technology, S.B Jain, cleared NISM Module of Mutual Fund in the month of November under the guidance of Prof. Yogesh Dhoke. These examinations are being developed by NISM as mandated under SEBI Regulation, 2007. Certificates conferred to the students shall help them bag better career prospects in capital market .Following students from the department cleared this examination – Pawan Wankar, Rohit Raut, Nishigandga Katkar, Vinita Krishnani, Nitin Dhakate, Chandrashekhar Gadikar, Shraddha Raghushe, Namrata Vaidya & Gaoutami Koye.

Workshop on ‘Business Analytics for Managers’ on 6th Novmeber 2017.

Department of Management Technology in association with SPSS,Banglore organised a workshop on ‘Business Analytics for Managers on 6th Novmeber,2017.Nilanjan De,Statistician , SPSS Banglore sensitised participants on how companies can harness the potential of analytics to make more informd decisions and conduct various activities in radically different ways and gain competitive advantage.

Three days Faculty Development Program on “Trends in IOT & Its Applications”

Three days Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Trends in IOT & its Applications” was organized by Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering of S. B. Jain Institute of Technology, Management & Research, Nagpur from 28th of November 2017 to 30th of November 2017. The faculty development program was approved by IETE Nagpur Centre.

The major objective of the program was to create awareness among the faculties about the recent trends in IOT and its applications in real world. Dr. K. M. Bhurchandi, Professor and Head of ECE Department, VNIT was the chief guest for the event. He discussed about the current scenario of IoT based application and its future scope. Academicians from various well known institutes have noted their participation.

Dr. Prashil M Jungahre, Associate Professor, Department of ETC was the Convener of the program & supported by Coordinator Prof. Amit Kale and Prof. Pankaj Taklikar.  The patron of the program was Dr. S. L. Badjate, Principal of SBJITMR with chief patrons Mr. Anuj Badjate and Mr. Sanjeev Agrawal, CEO of Shri Shantilal Badjate Charitable Trust. Dr. S. L. Badjate gave the inaugural function speech and Dr. Prashil M Junghare concluded with vote of thanks. All the faculties of ECE department and student volunteers took tremendous efforts to make the event a grand success.

The Placement drive of Prevoyance Cyber Forensic Pvt. Ltd which is one of the reputed companies in the domain of forensic & cyber security in Maharashtra state has been concluded successfully on 8/11/2017 at T&P dept of S. B. Jain Institute Of Technology, Management & Research.

11 students has been shortlisted for the further process of employment and internship,.

This placement drive is for the students of management 2017 & 2018 batch of al the Nagpur and Amrawati region colleges. For the success of placement drive, management of the institute and training & placement department has played vital role.
